A&T Partners with Launch Greensboro to Create Aggie Innovation Lab

EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Feb. 10, 2026) – An interview with North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Chancellor James R. Martin II is featured on tonight’s episode of “Side by Side with Nido Qubein” on PBS North Carolina.
The show airs at 7 p.m. and is hosted by Qubein, president of High Point University.
As 13th chancellor of the nation’s largest historically Black college or university, Martin shares why he’s optimistic about the future of higher education.
“North Carolina A&T, it’s at the right time, at the right place to really represent the future. It’s an incredible place of purpose. It’s an incredible place of extraordinary talent. And it’s a place of extraordinary possibility,” said Martin. “It is a place where you can build for the future. And I want it to be part of shaping the future in a place that I know is the next best thing right here in the Triad.”
During the nearly 30-minute interview, Martin also details the university’s pursuit of Research 1 designation in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, the critical role of engineering in North Carolina’s economic boom and why student success requires a shift from transactional to strategic partnerships.
