The Department of Public Safety (DPS) works diligently every day to ensure the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University community remains a safe and secure place to live, learn, and work. The department includes a professional university police department committed to community policing, campus safety, accountability, and strong partnerships with students, faculty, and staff while ensuring compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act and all applicable laws and upholding the highest professional and ethical standards. DPS also encompasses a comprehensive Emergency Management program dedicated to ongoing preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery efforts to protect the campus community from natural or human‑caused incidents, as well as a Threat Assessment and Management team that employs a structured, multidisciplinary approach focused on the early identification and assessment of behaviors or situations of concern in order to reduce risk and promote a safe and supportive campus environment.
