A&T to Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. in Two Events

EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Jan. 16, 2026) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has selected an exceptional professional with a distinguished record of service in higher education focused on human resources leadership, workplace development and employee relations to serve as associate vice chancellor for Human Resources and chief human resources officer (CHRO).
Darryl D. Wright-Greene, Ph.D., begins his leadership role in N.C. A&T’s Division of Human Resources on Feb. 2 and will also serve as a member of Chancellor James R. Martin II’s cabinet.
Wright-Greene will oversee human resources initiatives for a university with more than 2,800 permanent and temporary faculty, staff and student personnel and manage a staff of more than 30 human resource professionals and specialists. The Division of Human Resources is housed within the university’s Office of Business and Finance.
“Darryl not only brings a wealth of leadership experience in human resources management and strategy to our university, he is also dedicated to fostering a positive, empathetic and collaborative workplace environment for all employees,” said Virginia Teachey, vice chancellor for Business and Finance. “We are thrilled to have him join our leadership team and look forward to continued workforce development and success in the future.”
Wright-Greene comes to A&T from St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he served as chief human resources and talent officer and led all areas of human resources for approximately 2,700 employees. Prior to joining SPC, he held progressive leadership roles including executive director of HR and deputy Title IX coordinator at Dallas College Richland Campus, and senior director of HR Systems at its central office. His experience spans various roles in HR.
In addition to multiple executive leadership and professional certificates, Wright-Greene holds bachelor’s degrees in telecommunications and criminal justice from Michigan State University; an MBA from Madonna University; an M.Div. from Ashland University and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Liberty University.
Wright-Greene actively volunteers in his community and is dedicated to arts and culture, civil rights and social action, and expanding education, economic opportunity, and pathways out of poverty.
