North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is moving to Condition 1, Reduced Operations, at 7 p.m. tonight through 11 a.m. Tuesday. Final exams scheduled to be taken before for 11 a.m. Tuesday will be administered virtually, school leaders say.
As a reminder, under Condition 1 – Reduced Operations, the university remains open, but certain non-mandatory operations may be reduced, due to more limited staff. Mandatory employees must report to or remain at work. All other employees have the option to report late, leave early or not work at all in collaboration with supervisors.
Employees must use leave for any work time missed, unless authorized by their supervisors to work off site or if the governor issues an order permitting leave with pay.
Extremely cold conditions are forecast overnight with temperatures dropping into the teens. A slight chance of snow or precipitation continues this evening. Students and employees are urged to exercise caution on area roads, with patches of black ice and difficulty braking possible.
