A&T Names Jones Bigelow to Director Role in Human Resources Division

EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Nov. 24, 2025) – An outstanding professional with a distinguished record of service in both federal and higher education sectors has joined North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University’s Division of Human Resources in an essential directorial role.

Laquetta Jones BigelowLaquetta Jones Bigelow, J.D., has been named N.C. A&T’s director of Employee Relations and Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Officer. In this position within the Division of Human Resources, she will oversee efforts to maintain a professional and respectful workplace for all university employees.

“Laquetta is a highly skilled EEO legal expert whose insight and proactive approach have already strengthened our employee relations function,” said Orielle E. Hope, M.S., PHR, interim chief human resources officer and assistant vice chancellor for Human Resources Operations. “Her expertise, dedication, and collaborative leadership are driving meaningful improvements across our organization. I am excited to partner with Laquetta and look forward to the continued positive impact she will undoubtedly make.”

Jones Bigelow, who joined the university in September, previously served as director of Equal Employment Opportunity and Civil Rights for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Federal Mediation Conciliation Service. She also served as administrative hearing officer, sentencing specialist, director of enforcement and compliance, and attorney advisor for organizations such as the Social Security Administration’s administrative appeals operation and the Georgia Department of Labor.

A proud graduate of American University’s Key Executive Leadership Program, Jones Bigelow is recognized for her expertise in strategic planning and organizational development for federal agencies and national nonprofits. She is a certified trainer in Civil Treatment in the Workplace® and has delivered comprehensive training on topics such as conflict resolution, performance management and psychological safety.

Jones Bigelow’s commitment to education extends to her tenure as an adjunct professor at Guilford Technical Community College, where she specialized in property law and civil litigation. She holds a B.A. in political science and an MPA from North Carolina Central University, as well as a J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law.

Beyond her professional achievements, Jones Bigelow is an active member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., serving as a National Program Committee member and Mid-Atlantic Regional Program director. She finds inspiration in her service and values the opportunity to make a positive impact on the community.
