N.C. A&T Moving to Condition 1 at Noon on Friday, All Move-In Activities Postponed to Monday

01/09/2025 Employees, Students

In anticipation of a winter weather event that will bring snow, ice and sub-freezing temperatures to Greensboro starting tomorrow evening, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will move to Condition 1 starting at noon on Friday and ending at 8 a.m. Monday. North Carolina A&T offices and buildings will cease operations for the day with the start of Condition 1.

For employees, Condition 1 means that non-mandatory employees have the option work from home, leave work early or not report to work after informing their supervisors in a timely manner. Those employees who choose not to work must use available personal leave time to cover their absence. Staff and faculty should consider their own personal circumstances in determining their work schedule for Friday.

Mandatory employees are expected to report to work or remain on the job, and if deemed necessary by their supervisor, to work a differing schedule or shift than normally assigned.

Though university offices will be closed, Williams Dining Hall will open Saturday and Sunday for brunch (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and dinner (4 p.m. to 7 p.m.) to serve students who are already on campus for the start of the Spring semester. The Student Center and all its dining places will be closed.

Employees, students and their families are encouraged to exercise caution moving in and around the university this weekend. Weather forecasts call for an accumulation of up to four inches of snow and strong possibilities of freezing rain and ice on roadways Friday and Saturday, with icy conditions continuing Sunday.
