Board of Trustees Elects New Officers in First Full Meeting of 2024-25 School Year

EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Oct. 7, 2024) – The North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Board of Trustees elected new officers and welcomed a new member during its first full-body meeting of the 2024-25 academic year.

The new officers are:

  • Vice Chair William Dudley ‘72: Retired since 2007 after 31 years of state government services, Dudley began his professional career as assistant to the president of Lenoir Community College. In 1993, he became assistant secretary of the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety, and chief deputy secretary in 1996. He chairs the North Carolina Boxing Advisory Commission and is a management trainer with his company, Dudley Solutions LLC. He earned bachelor’s degree from N.C. A&T and his law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law. He maintains a limited law practice and is a member of several professional associations.
  • Secretary Gina Loften ‘90: Loften is a Fortune 100 board director and recently retired as the chief technology officer for Microsoft US. She is a leader with a track record for successfully helping enterprises put innovation into practice to deliver shareholder and business value. She has demonstrated her expertise in mergers and acquisitions by identifying and integrating software and consulting companies, creating portfolios of new products, services and revenue streams, and has held senior executive positions in research, development, sales and consulting at IBM and Microsoft. Loften serves as an independent board director for the public companies NASDAQ: TTEC and NASDAQ: TWKS (Thoughtworks). She is a member of the TIAA (Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association) Board of Trustees and is on the board of the private companies Foursquare and Modernizing Medicine. Loften earned her B.S. in engineering from A&T.

Kylie RiceDuring its annual retreat, the board officially swore in Student Government Association (SGA) President Kylie Rice as the ex officio member.

Sean SuggsThe board also welcomed new trustee Sean Suggs, president, Toyota Battery Manufacturing, North Carolina to the board.

Returning officers are Calvin Brodie, Mark Copeland, Kimberly Bullock Gatling, Paul L. Jones, Gregg Lowe and Joseph R. Parker Jr.

The board is comprised of 13 individuals: eight elected by the UNC Board of Governors, four appointed by the North Carolina General Assembly and an ex officio (SGA president). The term of office for all trustees, except the ex officio member, is four years.
