EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Aug. 30, 2024) – “Our Blues Make Us Gold,” a 90-minute documentary focused on North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University from filmmakers Brandon Gerard and Ashley Shantè, is set to air on the Black Experience on Comcast Xfinity on Monday, Sept. 30.

In development since 2019, “Our Blues Make Us Gold” takes viewers on a journey through the history of North Carolina A&T, America’s largest historically Black university, drawing from the experiences of alumni and students. The film features Vice President Kamala Harris’ visit to campus as well as David Banner, the Rev. Al Sharpton and a host of notable alumni.

Gerard and Shantè have a combined 20 years of professional experience in film production. Their production company, A2B Entertainment, is known for blending intimate, emotion-based storytelling with a modern, innovative aesthetic. In April 2022, the company received a $100,000 grant from the Black Experience on Xfinity that allowed for enhancement and completion of the project.
