EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (June 14, 2024) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has appointed Crystal W. Boyce ‘07 ‘15 associate vice chancellor for the Office of Alumni Relations.

Boyce, who has 15 years of experience at the university, previously served in the position on an interim basis. Her appointment took effect June 1.

“We could not be more excited to have Crystal assume the leadership role in the Office of Alumni Relations for the University,” said Kenneth E. Sigmon Jr., vice chancellor for the Division of University Advancement. “Her enthusiasm, depth of commitment and experience, coupled with her understanding of North Carolina A&T and the needs of our alumni make her the ideal person to join our senior advancement team.”

The Office of Alumni Relations strives to keep alumni connected by collaborating on initiatives that support the university and staying committed to the work of the A&T global footprint.

In Boyce’s new role, she will continue to manage the overall operations of creating engagement opportunities for more than 70,000 alumni. She is also responsible for executing the Greatest Homecoming on Earth, Alumni Reunion Weekend, managing more than 40 alumni chapters, overseeing the Advisory Council on Alumni Relations, and supporting various fundraising and engagement initiatives for the Division of University Advancement.

Boyce, a native of Washington, D.C., began her career at A&T in 2008 as an admissions counselor and was promoted to associate director for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, leading recruitment efforts for enrolling record-breaking classes. In 2015, she transitioned to the Office of Alumni Relations as the first director of alumni programs and was instrumental in creating the inaugural Alumni Employee Celebration, Aggie Certified Alumni Recruiter Training Program, Young Alumni Council, Aggie Student Alumni Association, and student traditions. In addition, she supported the Capital Campaign for North Carolina A&T: The Power of Do by planning a campaign university tour that resulted in several alumni chapters establishing endowments.

On campus, Boyce is a true believer in developing lifelong Aggie engagement from recruitment to beyond graduation, as an advisor for Metro Aggies and Black Girls Vote. She continues to serve on numerous university committees and supports the leadership of the Student Government Association. Additionally, she is an active member and facilitator for the Council for Advancement and Support Education (CASE), a member of the Gate City Alumni Chapter for North Carolina A&T State University, and the Beta Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She was Miss North Carolina A&T State University for 2006-07.

Boyce was awarded the Velma Speight Young Alumna Award by the former North Carolina A&T Alumni Association Inc. in 2009 and won the Essence of Aggie Pride Faculty/Staff Award in 2014.

Boyce earned a B.S. in journalism and mass communications and M.S. in adult education with a concentration in higher education, both from A&T.
