EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Feb. 27, 2024) – A sold-out crowd filled Corbett Sports Center at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University on Feb. 21, for the Chancellor’s Speaker Series, “Standin’ on Business,” featuring actress, writer and producer Issa Rae.
The atmosphere was electric from the moment moderator and alumna Toya Bynum entered the stage and exponentially increased when the music exploded and Rae’s name was called.
Rae and Bynum’s conversation touched on many topics from discussing Rae's roots as a Senegalese American woman to her creative process, mentorship, racial disparities in media, self advocacy and more.
