EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Nov. 15, 2021) – The Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will host David Gitlin on Thursday, Nov. 18, to conclude its fall 2021 Closing Bell Speaker Series.
Gitlin is chairman and CEO and board member of Carrier, a global provider of sustainable building and refrigeration solutions. He has been president and CEO since July 2019 and was elected chairman of the board in April 2021.
Before joining Carrier, Gitlin was president and chief operating officer of Collins Aerospace, which was created by bringing together UTC Aerospace Systems and Rockwell Collins. Prior to UTC Aerospace Systems, he worked for Hamilton Sundstrand as president of aerospace customers and business development; president of Auxiliary Power, Engine & Control Systems; vice president and general manager of Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems; vice president of Pratt & Whitney programs; and general manager of Rolls Royce/General Electric programs. He served in roles at United Technologies Corp. and Pratt & Whitney before joining Hamilton Sundstrand.
Gitlin holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law and MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.

The Closing Bell Speaker Series was established in September 2008 to bring successful professionals to the Deese College to engage students, faculty, staff and the community in topical discussions that reflect the changing global business environment.
