Three N.C. A&T Online Degree Programs Highly Ranked By Intelligent.com
EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Dec. 18, 2019) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has the nation’s best Master of Science in Information Technology program offered by a historically black college or university, according to Intelligent.com.
The program, which ranks only behind the University of South Florida as the country’s best program among 47, is one of three online degree programs highly ranked in reports released for 2020 by the website, which is designed to help students make informed decisions about higher education programs.
Based on an assessment of 1,604 accredited colleges and universities, Intelligent.com also ranked North Carolina A&T at No. 7 out of 25 for dental assistant degree programs and No. 34 out of 57 for baccalaureate information technology degree programs.
N.C. A&T’s Master of Science in Information Technology program emphasizes the acquisition of sound theoretical concepts with intensive experience. It is offered with concentrations in computer networking and communications, computer security, web technologies, digital media technologies, and database management. Courses are taught by faculty with high level expertise gained through their research activity, affiliations with industry and professional experience.
Intelligent.com rated N.C. A&T’s dental assistant degree program as the nation’s most affordable with an estimated $21.65 cost per credit. Students who successfully earn their certification through this program are prepared to sit for the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB)-Radiation Health and Safety exam and the DANB-Infection Control Exam.
The website also highlighted the mainframe education focus of N.C. A&T’s Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology. This degree program provides a foundation requiring the same accounting, economics, management and marketing courses required by all majors in the Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics and prepares students to receive certification in computer networking.
Intelligent.com’s 2020 rankings were calculated through a scoring system which includes student engagement, potential return on investment, and leading third-party evaluations. The methodology used an algorithm that collected and analyzed multiple rankings into one score to compare each degree program.
