10/14/2019 Employees

EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Oct. 14, 2019) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will have its 2019-20 Faculty and Staff Combined Campaign kickoff Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr. is the keynote speaker for the event, which will be from noon - 1:30 p.m. at the Alumni-Foundation Event Center.

“Each year, our Aggie family is asked to invest in ourselves and others by making a contribution to N.C. A&T through the University Employees Campaign (UEC) and our community by giving to the State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC),” said Regetta Spearman, who serves as co-chairwoman of the campaign with April Cobb. “The 2019-20 Combined Campaign allows all faculty, staff, administrators and retirees the opportunity to financially support the university’s efforts.”

All gifts to N.C. A&T from university employees and retirees support the $85 million capital campaign The Power of Do: The Campaign for North Carolina A&T.

Spearman said this year’s fundraising goal is $450,000.

“The Faculty & Staff Combined Campaign had a goal in the 2018-19 fiscal year of $400,000: $345,000 to A&T through the UEC and $55,000 to the community through the SECC,” she said. “Our faculty, staff and retirees blew that goal out of the water with over $765,000 raised.”

Last year, there were 863 unique donors to the campaign, 188 of whom donated to both campaigns, representing 34% of all current faculty, staff and retirees, Spearman said.

Gifts to A&T through the UEC can be designated to any area on campus a donor desires, she said. Likewise, gifts to the SECC can be designated to any participating nonprofit.

“Your contributions will be an expression of confidence and support for the well-being of our university and extended community for years to come,” Spearman said.

The kickoff event will have a party atmosphere, featuring food, fun and prizes, Spearman said. Attendees are encouraged to wear Western-style attire in keeping with the theme, “Campaign Road: Give ‘Til We Reach Our Goal.”

For more information about the campaign, employees and retirees can visit the website or contact the Faculty and Staff Combined Campaign representative in their office.
