EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Oct. 23, 2023) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University’s Information Technology Services, Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Education and Outreach and Waste Management Institute are partnering to offer the annual Aggie Shred and Recycling Day on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Lindsay and Laurel streets on campus in recognition of October as Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
Between 9 a.m. and noon, A&T employees, students and members of the surrounding community can securely dispose of unwanted documents such as old homework assignments, medical records, tax returns, bank statements and canceled checks, as well as related electronic items such as phones, computer, tablets, hard drives, thumb drives, CDs, monitors, televisions, radios, printers, cables and wires, keyboard, laptops, batteries and vacuums in an environmentally friendly way. Remove paper from binders and large binder clips.
A&T employees will be allowed to dispose of university documents, personal documents and personal electronics. Disposal of A&T electronics is prohibited. Employees are required to follow the university’s electronic disposal process. Contact Property Management for more information.
Disposal of the items collected at this event is being handled by Shred-it and Powerhouse Recycling for a third year. Waste Management Institute’s Earth & Environmental Science Club students also have volunteered to assist patrons at this event.
Upon arrival, look for the blue and gold balloons in parking lot No. 38, across from the University Police Department. The event may end early if the shred truck and electronic recycling truck reach capacity.
