EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (OCT. 9, 2020) – There’s great news for alumni and friends of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. The “Greatest Homecoming on Earth” Virtual Edition is scheduled to take place Oct. 29-31. The virtual experience will reconnect alumni through a series of online activities and events that are sure to ignite the spirit of Aggie Pride.
The Office of Alumni Relations has pulled together a line-up of Aggie homecoming traditions that include Fall Convocation, Mister and Miss A&T Coronation video premiere, college meet and greets, vendor exhibitions, class reunions, a donor celebration, DJ battles, Aggie game night, WNAA 90.1 virtual tailgate karaoke, a halftime show and much more.
On Friday, Oct. 30, at 9 p.m., alumni will have the opportunity to participate in a watch party to view the “Stay at Homecoming” documentary presented by From A2B Studios. Click here to view the teaser.
“Even though alumni were disappointed to learn that in-person events were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Office of Alumni Relations surveyed our Aggies to gauge their preferences on virtual options,” said Teresa Davis, associate vice chancellor of Alumni Relations. “Due to an overwhelming response from our alumni to stay connected to North Carolina A&T, we decided to move forward with a virtual homecoming edition.”
In addition to alumni events, the Office of Annual Giving is challenging all alumni to give back to A&T through the Homecoming Giving Challenge that will run Oct. 19 – 31. The goal is to secure 1,000 donors, coinciding with the Power of Do Capital Campaign that is focused on raising money for scholarships and the student emergency fund.
The “Greatest Homecoming on Earth” Virtual Edition full event schedule will launch on Thursday, Oct. 15, at noon. For alumni interested in receiving homecoming notifications, please sign up for the e-news blast at http://bit.ly/homecoming2020emaillist.
