EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 2, 2020) – In advance of any potential threats, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has issued a travel advisory to its campus community and developed a new coronavirus information website, for reference and bookmarking.
The university and Student Health Center are monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding the respiratory illness known as COVID-19, caused by the novel coronavirus.
N.C. A&T is a global university with students, faculty, researchers and staff from around the world. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 60 countries worldwide have confirmed cases of COVID-19. The university recommends students, faculty and staff traveling during spring break, domestically or abroad, exercise caution and take all necessary preventative measures to avoid infection.
According to Dr. Beryl McEwen, provost and executive vice chancellor for Academic Affairs, the university receives daily updates through various University of North Carolina System communications.
Any affected university study and research abroad activities are being advised by the offices of the Provost and International Affairs.
