ATLANTA, GA (Dec. 21, 2019) – After a grueling back and forth, the North Carolina A&T Aggies have once again secured the historically black college and university (HBCU) national football championship in historic fashion.
With a score of 64-44, the Aggies solidified their dominance of the Celebration Bowl with its fourth win in the bowl’s five-year history.
Led by a monster performance from senior quarterback, Kylil Carter, the Aggies reset the quarter record by a single team in the third quarter with 28. With six passing touchdowns, Carter also tied N.C. A&T’s record for the most in a game and broke the Celebration Bowl record for that same statistic, earning him the offensive most valuable player.
Junior running back Jah-Maine Martin led all rushers with 110 yards while junior, Korey Banks led all receivers with 122 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, freshman, Jacob Roberts made a huge impact, including an interception he returned for 28 yards. That performance earned him the defensive most valuable player title.
