Greensboro, NC -- (Feb. 2, 2017) On Feb. 8, 36 presidents and chancellors of North Carolina colleges and universities will gather at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University for the 7th annual North Carolina Campus Compact Presidents Forum.
The event brings leaders from public, private, and community colleges and universities together to explore topics related to civic and community engagement.
The morning session (open to the media) features a keynote by Jamie Merisotis, president and CEO of the Lumina Foundation, and a leading thinker in philanthropy, public policy and higher education. Merisotis will draw on his 2015 book, American Needs Talent, in delivering his remarks, “From Woolworth’s to ‘What Now’: North Carolina’s Opportunity to Reimagine Postsecondary Education.” The morning session also includes presentations of awards to an outstanding faculty, administrator, and college president from the N.C. network.
North Carolina Campus Compact is a network of colleges and universities that share a commitment to educating engaged citizens and strengthening communities. North Carolina A&T State University is a member campus and host of the event. Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr., is a member of the Compact’s executive board.
Thirty-six N.C. presidents and chancellors joined by other campus administrators, award winners and special guests are slated to be in attendance. Thirty-eight colleges and universities will be represented.
WHERE: The event will be held on the campus of N.C. A&T at the Alumni Foundation Event Center, 200 North Benbow Rd., Greensboro, NC 27411 (parking in lot #17, adjacent to the event center on the south side).
WHEN: Wednesday, Feb. 8, 10 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Media may attend morning session.
