Process for obtaining the Undergraduate Research Graduation Cord
The Undergraduate Research (UR) Graduation Cord is administered through the Center for Undergraduate Research. It recognizes undergraduate students who have participated in research experiences and other scholarly activities during their undergraduate academic tenure at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Your name will also be acknowledged in the program booklet at graduation.
Eligibility for Undergraduate Research (UR) Graduation Cord
- Must be a graduating senior;
- Must have participated in a faculty-mentored research experience or an original scholarly or creative activity at any time during your undergraduate academic career ;
- Must have documented outcomes (a poster, journal article, proof of a creative performance) from the research experience, scholarly activity, or creative activity; and
- Must have presented outcomes at a professional conference, or at a Center for Undergraduate Research Symposium, or published in an academic journal.
- Attendance in a research course does not qualify as an undergraduate research experience.
(1) Undergraduate Research Participation Form
- Download and Complete the Undergraduate Research Participation form (fillable Word file), and
- Obtain the signature of the faculty-mentor for the specified research experience, scholarly or creative activity.
(2) Form Submission:
- Forms are accepting from graduating seniors ONLY.
- Complete the Research Cord Application and upload your completed Undergraduate Research Participation form no later October 29 th for the Fall graduation and April 1st for Spring graduation.
