WNAA Radio Station
HISTORY
WNAA was founded in 1966 as WANT-AM, a class project by electronics students who included WNAA’s future general manager, Tony Welborne. It adopted the WNAA call letters in 1979, and operated from then to 1985 as a low-power local station serving the A&T campus and parts of Greensboro.
In 1985, the station was granted permission to upgrade to its current status. WNAA celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025 as a full-power radio station, serving the listeners of North Carolina A&T and surrounding areas.
