Education Abroad

WHY STUDY ABROAD?

At North Carolina A&T State University, there are opportunities to take a semester, summer, or academic year to study or be an intern in another part of the world. You can learn another language, explore a new culture, obtain job skills that will better prepare you for the global marketplace, and meet students from across the globe.

A Glance at Study Abroad Programs at N.C. A&T:

1. Direct Provider Programs

Students have the opportunity to visit an international university for a summer, semester, or a full academic year with one of our providers.  As a visiting student abroad, you will not pay N.C. A&T tuition and fees; however, you can use your financial aid to pay the provider for your education abroad experience.  The Office of International Affairs and the provider of your choice will work with you as you build your adventure abroad.

2. Exchange  Programs

North Carolina A&T has established exchange partnerships with several universities abroad. Through these reciprocal agreements, international students from partner institutions can study at NCAT, while NCAT students have the opportunity to study at those same institutions overseas. As part of the exchange, you will continue to pay your regular NCAT tuition and fees, while the incoming exchange student does the same at their home institution.

3. Faculty-Led

N.C. A&T faculty create short-term global experiences that allow students to engage with different cultures and academic perspectives. Faculty from a variety of departments lead programs during fall, spring, and summer breaks, offering cultural enrichment and experiential learning opportunities around the world. These faculty-led programs are arranged through approved study abroad providers, and students pay the provider directly. Please note: financial aid cannot be applied to faculty-led study abroad experiences.
