Outreach Initiatives
The Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Education, and Outreach (CREO) is actively engaged in a broad range of outreach activities that extend its impact beyond the university. These efforts are driven by CREO’s mission to strengthen cybersecurity awareness, foster collaboration across academia, industry, and government, and build a resilient and well-prepared cybersecurity workforce. By connecting research, education, and community engagement, CREO ensures that its work translates into meaningful societal impact while advancing innovation and workforce development at local, national, and global levels.
CREO regularly invites leading research scholars and industry experts to deliver seminars, technical talks, and workshops, fostering a vibrant environment of knowledge exchange and collaboration. These engagements strengthen CREO’s research ecosystem while exposing students and faculty to emerging trends, challenges, and innovations in cybersecurity and related fields.
A key component of CREO’s outreach mission is its commitment to early cybersecurity awareness and education. CREO actively partners with K–12 schools to establish a local cybersecurity footprint, aiming to introduce foundational concepts in cybersecurity and digital safety to younger audiences. This effort is designed to increase awareness among students who may be more vulnerable to cyber risks, while also inspiring interest in STEM and cybersecurity careers at an early stage.
In support of broader research advancement, CREO also provides access to its computational and research infrastructure, including high-performance computing (HPC) resources, to researchers across the campus. This shared-resource model enables interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerates innovation across multiple domains, reinforcing CREO’s role as a central hub for cybersecurity research, education, and community engagement.
