Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics

Prospective Students

Accounting firms have been recognized by Business Week as the best place to launch your career and by CFO Magazine as as one of the most profitable careers in the country. Get your preparation on and step into this world at the North Carolina A&T State University, Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics.

Our Accounting program was the first at a historically black university to receive the prestigious accreditation of AACSB International, a credential held by only about 6 percent of accounting programs in the world. Our caring faculty provide a sense of family, and our program is one of the top producers of African-American CPAs in the country.

Our best students have opportunities to intern with internationally known accounting firms and Fortune 500 companies in summers after their sophomore and junior years. These internships provide wonderful experiences and maximize employment opportunities upon graduation. In addition to great employment opportunities, we partner with some of the top graduate programs in the country and successfully place our students there.

The Department of Accounting and Finance is in partnership with numerous organizations to complement the total development of the student. These organizations are designed to promote professional skill development and networking opportunities with representatives from the accounting profession. Scholarships are also available for qualified applicants to the accounting program.

Our students also benefit from our accounting alumni who have achieved esteemed positions in business and who remain involved with the school.
