The North Carolina A&T State University Master of Accountancy program is a new graduate program that builds on the success and reputation of our undergraduate Accounting program, long recognized as one of the best among historically black colleges and universities. This is a 30-hour, traditional day program.

We are building a class of students who can engage collaboratively as a community of learners toward excellence in research, scholarship, creative expression, and community engagement. While we understand that our students will come with different backgrounds and experiences, they all should share the following common characteristics:

Application Criteria

To apply for admission to the MAcc program in the Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics, an applicant must hold a baccalaureate degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.  Students without an accounting undergraduate degree will require the following 18 hours of accounting and finance prerequisite courses or their equivalent from a four-year accredited institution: 

• ACCT 331 (Intermediate Accounting I)
• ACCT 332 (Intermediate Accounting II)
• ACCT 344 (Cost Accounting)
• ACCT 443 (Income Tax Accounting)
• ACCT 461 (Auditing Principles)
• FIN 343 (Principles of Finance)

• A completed and signed Graduate College Application for admission.
• A $60 non-refundable fee.
• Official college transcripts from all higher education institutions.
• Two letters of recommendation.
• A letter of intent.
• A current resume.
• The GMAT or GRE score will be considered.  However, if the applicant has an undergraduate GPA of 3.30 or higher and an accounting GPA of 3.00 or higher, the GMAT or GRE examination is waived.
• TOEFL score, IELTS scores or other proof of English language proficiency (required of all international applicants).
• Students claiming in-state residence must submit the residence form.
