WNAA-90.1 FM Radio

WNAA-90.1 FM is a full-power, non-commercial, 10,000-watt radio station licensed to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, with a coverage area of up to 56 miles (88 kilometers) in most directions.

WNAA is licensed to serve the Greensboro-High Point-Winston Salem metropolitan radio market. Its broadcast signal covers a 14-county region in the Northern Piedmont area of North Carolina and Southwestern Virginia; its digital stream is available everywhere.

WNAA was founded in 1966 as WANT-AM, a class project by electronics students who included WNAA’s future general manager, Tony Welborne. It adopted the WNAA call letters in 1979, and operated from then to 1985 as a low-power local station serving the A&T campus and parts of Greensboro.

In 1985, the station was granted permission to upgrade to its current status. It is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2025 as a full-power radio station, serving the listeners of North Carolina A&T and surrounding areas.
