Inovative Smart applications

An interdisciplinary initiative focused on utilizing innovative technologies to optimize resources, reduce waste, and improve quality of life across eight key areas in urban environments. Each area is supported by a dedicated lab and equipment:
  • Smart and Connected Health: Enhancing healthcare delivery through telemedicine, wearable devices, data analytics, and intelligent medical technologies.
  • Smart Cities Infrastructure: Developing secure energy systems, integrating IoT devices for resource management, and enhancing resilience against natural disasters.
  • Democracy in Smart Cities: Improving election security through secure and transparent voting systems.
  • Smart Transportation: Advancing sustainable transportation systems, including autonomous vehicles and UAVs in collaboration with NC A&T’s ACCESS Lab and NSA.
  • Smart Supply Chains: Optimizing logistics, reducing waste, and increasing supply chain transparency.
  • Metaverse and Education: Exploring virtual and augmented reality for education and urban planning.
  • Smart Farming and Agriculture: Using technology to improve food production and distribution while studying environmental impact.
  • Future Data Storage and Security: Expanding data storage through DNA synthesis and biological information processing.
