University Advancement

The Division of University Advancement is one of eight administrative divisions at North Carolina A&T State University. Our mission is to support the university through the enhancement and management of private resources by expanding opportunities for engagement, increasing the division’s resources, strengthening the university’s brand, and improving communications.

Organizationally, University Advancement is made up of three units:

Alumni Relations

The Office of Alumni Relations' goal is to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships for our diverse alumni community. We plan to create engagement opportunities for alumni to connect with students, one another and the university utilizing their time, talent and treasure. In addition, we will focus on nurturing current students to create a tradition of participation and giving to support the university’s mission and goals.

Development

Development creates and maintains funding opportunities through prospect research, cultivation and stewardship. Our development officers seek to raise private gifts of $25,000 or more for the College of Business and Economics, College of Engineering, College of Science and Technology, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Agriculture, College of Health and Human Services, College of Education, and the Department of Athletics. Corporate and foundation support is raised to meet the needs of all academic programs and student scholarships, and the Aggie Athletic Foundation brings major support to athletics through direct funding and corporate sponsorship.

Advancement Operations

Advancement Operations exists in order to support the activities of the Division such as developing lifelong relationships with our students, alumni and supporters, and building a strong community that stays involved in A&T.  Through these activities, we work together to advance the university.  The support Advancement Operations provides is that of a sound technological infrastructure.  Advancement Operations is responsible for all strategic development services activities, including prospect research, gift processing, technology, document imaging, training, and data services.  Advancement Operations will meet the needs of the fund raising professionals who use the university's relational database, while also developing and implement strategic operating plans for information systems in anticipation of future needs.  Our goal is to assist in allowing the goals of the university's strategic plan to be met through the highest levels of efficiency, accountability, and infrastructure support.
