Message from the Chairperson

The Department of Business Information Systems and Analytics offers a Business Information Technology degree:

Business Information Technology (BIT) degree—This strength of this degree is the capability to customize your learning through 4 Information Technology electives and 3 Free Electives. With these electives, you can select courses in your area of interest, whether it is web design, IT security, database management, programming, or other specialties. Or you can choose to gain a breadth of knowledge in multiple areas of interest.

Students graduating with this degree have gained jobs with employers such as Lenovo, CISCO, Microsoft, Amazon, Wells Fargo, NSA, AT&T, and Proctor and Gamble. They hold positions in a variety of careers: data specialist, database administrator, project management, instructional technology facilitator, technical service specialist, quality engineer, quality assurance analyst, digital media instructor, etc. Please click the BIT link above for additional information.

The Business Information Technology degree can be completed on campus or entirely online.

Students can participate in the student organization for Association for Information Technology Professionals (AITP). AITP exposes students to networking and professional development opportunities and to the latest developments in information technology business applications.
