FAQs
For the Fall 2024 semester, 9 August 2024
I work diligently to get the memo sent over to the Treasurer's Office as quickly as possible. Once I get the memos to them, they have to then apply them to the student's account. I ask for grace and your patience because we are not able to stop everything else that's still happening, i.e. phone calls, emails, office visits, etc, and it is not an automatic process. This can take several days.
When you go to your Online Account portal, the memo will appear in the Estimated Aid area and it will say "Third Party Contract Payment"
You will have to pay them to the University. If you have other aid coming in, deduct the amount of aid from the total of those charges and it will tell you if you have an out of pocket expense. Please also refer back to the VMA Orientation Presentation for details and guidance.
You will continue to receive this notification until your account has a zero balance. You will continue to receive this notification until all moneys are received to give you a zero balance. If the memo is on your account and you have the other charges (if applicable) covered, you will be fine, but you will continue to receive that notification.
If you do not pay the charges VA does not pay, yes, your classes will get dropped.
That is a personal decision, although I would recommend waiting until the memo is on your account to sign up for the payment plan. Reason is, if you sign up before the memo, the payments will be larger. However, once the memo is on your account, the payments will adjust accordingly.
Unfortunately, no. We are not able to request a memo on your account because the stipend comes directly to you.
