Parents and family members can play helpful roles in assisting their students' transition to their first year at North Carolina A&T State University. The information and resources below will enable you to be a stronger asset.

New Student Orientation

Congratulations on your student’s acceptance to N.C. A&T State University! New Student Orientation (NSO) is mandatory for all newly admitted students. Orientation begins the summer prior to the fall semester. During orientation, you will receive information about academic requirements and expectations, campus resources, student services, meet with an academic advisor and register for courses.

Important Dates and Deadlines

  • FAFSA Priority Deadline: TBD
  • Enrollment Fee Deadline: May 01, 2024
  • Official final transcripts due: June 30, 2024

N.C. Residency

If your student claims North Carolina residency for tuition purposes, he/she must complete the Residency Determination Service (RDS) interview process and provide the Admissions office with their Residency Certification Number (RCN) from RDS.

Complete FAFSA Now

Need financial assistance to fund your student’s college education? Help your student(s) complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA now. Be sure to include N.C. A&T school code #002905. Students and parents must request a Federal Student Aid ID to electronically sign the FAFSA. A Renewal FAFSA must be completed each academic year. For details regarding the FAFSA, click here.

Immunizations

By North Carolina law, students must complete the new student immunizations requirements in order to become an enrolled student. For more information, contact the Student Health Center at 336-334-7880 and find out what immunizations are needed prior to New Student Orientation by visiting the Student Health Center's website.

Apply for Housing

The Housing Application process begins after your student submits her or his Intent to Enroll. To apply for on-campus housing, your student must complete the FASFA, register for at least 12 credit hours, complete the housing application and pay a $175 processing fee.

Students select their housing assignment after they complete New Student Orientation.

Payment Options for Student Bills

There are options to paying your student’s bill(s). Set-up a payment plan. Choose between a four- or five-month plan. You may also pay in person with cash, money order or certified check.

Your student’s bill(s) can be paid online via an electronic check or credit card. To pay online, your student must authorize you as a user. For details, visit N.C. A&T's Treasurer's Office.
