Tuition rates are reviewed by the University's Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina System and set annually by the North Carolina legislature. Fees are reviewed and approved by the University's Board of Trustees with final approval pending the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina System review. To view the most up to date tuition rates, please visit the North Carolina A&T Treasurer's Office Tuition and Fees website. 
  • Once a student is notified of acceptance they are required to pay a nonrefundable matriculation fee of $1,000. This payment will be applied to total tuition costs. 
  • The total cost of attendance (COA) is equal to tuition and fees plus PA program specific cost estimates (see academic and personal fee charts below).

Financial Aid Opportunities 
If you think you will need assistance, the first step is to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form. The N.C. A&T State University Federal School Code is 002905. Your information must then go through the process of verification.

Refunds for Official Withdrawals 
Students who wish to drop all courses for which they are registered must withdraw from the university prior to the first day of classes to avoid academic or financial responsibility. Any student who receives Non-Title IV Aid and withdraws from all of their courses (Official Withdrawal) may be entitled to a refund for paid tuition and fees dependent on the date of their withdrawal. Below is the refund schedule for Fall/Spring ONLY.

Students who are awarded Federal Financial Aid and choose to withdraw will also be subject to the Return of Title IV Funds Policy. This may result in an unpaid balance due to the university. Federal Title IV Aid includes Stafford Loans, Perkins Loans, PLUS Loans, Pell Grants, and SEOG Grants among others.
