Curriculum Overview

The program is full-time and is based on a 7-semester curriculum.  Students are required to complete a capstone project. Upon completion, students will earn a Master of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies. 


Systems-Based Education

The North Carolina A&T Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) program is a graduate level professional program that is delivered full-time and spans twenty-seven (27) months. Students will matriculate as a cohort into a 15-month pre-clinical (didactic) phase, followed by 12 months of clinical education. Upon successful completion of 107 credit hours, graduates will earn a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) degree. 

The PA program provides a systems-based graduate medical education curriculum that integrates both problem-based and team-based learning. The curriculum is designed to begin with foundational knowledge that builds as students advance in the program. All course design and implementation are based on the Standards of Accreditation for Physician Assistant Education, as published by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
