The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (20 U.S.C. § 1092(f)), commonly known as the Clery Act, is a federal law requiring institutions of higher education to disclose information about crime, fire safety, and campus security policies. North Carolina A&T State University publishes an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR) each year by October 1. The report includes campus safety policies, fire safety information, and crime and fire statistics for the previous three calendar years.
Certain off-campus activities may fall within Clery geography, including academic travel, athletic events, conferences, and repeated-use facilities. Departments sponsoring such activities must submit the appropriate form so the University can determine Clery geography and reporting obligations.
The Daily Crime and Fire Log provides timely information regarding crimes and fires reported to or discovered by the University Police Department. The log is updated within two business days of receiving information and includes the nature, date, time, general location, and disposition of reported incidents.
Information may be withheld in accordance with federal law if disclosure would compromise victim confidentiality, an active investigation, individual safety, or the integrity of evidence.
