Freshmen and new transfer students are required to follow these steps to ensure their housing selections:

Step 1: Students must be admitted and confirm their intent to enroll by May 1st (Please note that it takes 4-5 business days for your housing profile to be created so that you can submit your housing contract.)

Step 2: Students must register for a New Student Orientation (NSO). Please note that the housing self-selection process will occur after you have successfully completed the NSO.

Step 3: Housing applications should be completed by May 1 at 11:59 p.m. with a $175 non-refundable application fee.

Step 4: Students who decide to not attend North Carolina A&T State University may be released from their housing contract without penalty.

Step 5: Freshmen are allowed to select their room and roommate, on a first-come, first-served basis after completion of their New Student Orientation (NSO) through The Aggie Housing Portal

Step 6:  Please be aware that housing contracts submitted after May 1 are subject to be placed in temporary housing (The Drury Inn), until on-campus housing options become available.

Housing announcements are made monthly through the Housing & Residence Life website and the Housing Portal. In addition, housing applicants will also receive emails from Housing & Residence Life to their NC A&T email (username@aggies.ncat.edu).
