Bio
2017, Ph.D., Department of Biomedical Engineering, Binghamton University (State University of New York).
2017 – 2019, Postdoctoral Researcher, Institute of Regenerative Medicine, School of Medicine at Texas A&M University
2019-2021, Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Otorhinolaryngology, School of Medicine at University of Pennsylvania
2021-Present, Assistant Professor, Chemical, Biological and Bioengineering (CBBE) department at North Carolina A&T State University
Research Interests
My research interests involve 1) using nanoparticles as means of detecting disease through molecular imaging and treating disease with drug delivery for cardiovascular disease (Atherosclerosis), cancer, and inner ear detoxification (for hearing loss), and 2) treating cancer such as melanoma and leukemia via hyperthermic effect of gold nanoparticles, and 3) exploring and understanding the role of extracellular vesicles (exosomes or EVs) in tumor metastasis, inflammation disease, brain injuries, and neurodegenerative disorders. For my research projects, there are several different fields such as chemical synthesis (e.g. nanoparticle synthesis), polymer chemistry (e.g. surface chemistry on nanoparticles), cell study as an in vitro study (e.g. toxicology, cellular uptake), and animal study as an in vivo study (e.g. biodistribution, targeting, diagnosis, therapy).
