Bio
A Professor and Chair of Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at North Carolina A&T State University Greensboro. He received his PhD degree in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University, MS in Industrial Engineering and BS in Mechanical Engineering both from India. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). He also served as Professor and Duin Endowed Fellow in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at North Dakota State University (NDSU)—Fargo. Dr. Yadav has also served as the Interim Chair of IME Department at NDSU for three years. He is the founding Director of the Center for Quality, Reliability, and Maintainability Engineering (CQRME), he established with the support of 10-member companies. Prior to his tenure at NDSU, Dr. Yadav spent almost four years at Ford Motor Company, Dearborn working as a Reliability Engineer in Ford Product Development Center (FPDC) and a faculty member at MNIT Jaipur (India).
Research Interests
Dr. Yadav's research interests include risk, reliability, and resiliency analysis, design optimization, robust design, complex engineered system modeling, and manufacturing systems analysis. His research work has been published in Reliability Engineering and Systems Safety, Journal of Risk and Reliability, Quality and reliability Engineering International, International Journal of Production Research, Engineering Management Journal, and IEEE Transactions. He has published over 200 research papers in the area of reliability, risk assessment, design optimization, and operations management. His research grants of over $15.0 Million funded by NSF, DOE, NASA, and various companies over the period of last 15 years. Dr. Yadav is a recipient of 2015, 2018, 2021, 2023, and 2024 IISE William A.J. Golomski best paper award, 2021, 2022, and 2025 SRE Best paper award, 2023 Doug Ogden SRE Best Paper Award, 2021 RAMS best paper (3rd), 2023 RAMS best paper (1st) award, and 2024 RAMS best award (2nd).
