The specific risks vary from one activity to another, but the risks range from 1) minor injuries such as scratches, bruises, and sprains to 2) major injuries such as eye injury or loss of sight, joint or back injuries, heart attacks, and concussions to 3) catastrophic injuries including paralysis and death.

No, medical coverage is not provided. We strongly recommend personal health insurance for all Intramural Sports participants. Each individual participating in Intramural Sports activities assumes the responsibility for their own health insurance needs. In the event of an injury, the Intramural Sports program and A&T will not cover payment for treatment.

Yes. Picture identification checks occur before every Intramural Sports contest. Failure to provide A&T identification will result in not being allowed to participate in Intramural Sports on that day. Absolutely no exceptions will be made.

If your team cannot make a scheduled contest, the team captain should notify the Intramural Sports office as soon as possible. Your team will have a forfeit loss and will not be able to reschedule that game.

If the minimum numbers of eligible players (with valid student identification) do not show up within game time, the contest is recorded as a forfeit. A team must start with the minimum number of eligible players as stated in the rules for the sport or a forfeit is declared. If neither team has the minimum number of eligible players to start or finish a game, both teams shall receive a forfeit.

During the first week of play, it is required that teams show up with at least the minimum number of eligible players to reserve their spot in the league. A team forfeiting their first scheduled game of the season may be removed from their league without a refund. The Intramural Sports office will notify teams dropped from the league.

All Intramural Sports contests will be played as scheduled. Most games will be played rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, team captains are advised to contact the Intramural Sports office at (336) 285-4232 for an official decision from 3-3:30 p.m. If a final decision regarding rain has not been made, prepare your team to play. Officials will make a final decision on site.
