Bio

Dr. Paramanathan Varatharajah is an Associate Professor of Mathematics. He obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Arizona in 1991. After receiving extensive research and teaching experience in various institutions, Dr. Varatharajah moved to NC A&T as an Assistant Professor in 1994.

Dr. Varatharajah has been active in research. He has published several research articles and delivered numerous talks. He serves as the Calculus Course Coordinator, MyLab Math administrator, and Gen-ED Coordinator. He has been leading the implementation of the SCALE-UP model teaching for Calculus I. He is the main author of the Calculus I (Early Transcendental) Workbook, 2nd Edition, Pearson ​Education Inc, 2021.

Currently, he serves as deputy chair of the University RPT committee. He has served on numerous committees in the department and the college including the chair of the College RPT committee.

Dr. Varatharajah was the recipient of the College of Arts & Sciences “Outstanding Senior Faculty Merit Teaching Award” in 2015.
