Bio
As a rural sociologist, my research focuses on the intersection of agriculture, natural resource management, chronic health disparities, environmental health, aging, and technology-based healthcare. My work is driven by a commitment to understanding and addressing the social determinants of health, particularly in underserved rural communities. Using a mixed-methods approach, I investigate how historical, environmental, and social factors shape health outcomes across generations, with a particular emphasis on the intergenerational impacts of residential segregation, the health risks faced by aging farmers, and the role of innovative interventions in improving the cognitive well-being of elderly populations.
