Bio

I am the data visualization librarian for the F. D. Bluford Library at NCA&T. I am driven to enhance how your data are visually communicated, and want to support your research and data needs surrounding software, design aesthetics, and data exploration.

Research Interests

I am broadly interested in the ways that environmental conditions are imprinted in forest ecology. In turn, I use field-collected forest data (tree rings and mast) as proxy information to extend historical records beyond our instrumental era. My research spans dendrochronology (tree-ring science), climatology, and biogeography, and I have been extremely fortunate to have worked with talented students and colleagues on projects within these fields of research. The majority of my past research has examined longleaf pine ecosystems of the Southeastern US; however, my current research examines acorn production and extreme climate in Appalachian forest ecosystems.
