GEOM 710: Geospatial Techniques and Analysis

This course covers the broad topics in Geomatics including adjustment analysis, geodesy, global navigation systems, geographic information system and remote sensing. Prerequisites: Permission of Instructor

GEOM 831: Advanced Geospatial Analysis

This course introduce the fundamental concepts and elements in geographic science and technology. It covers a number of techniques aimed at the analysis of spatial data including various geospatial analysis for both raster and vector data, spatial data modeling, interpolation, and analytical hierarchy process. Prerequisites: Permission of Instructor

GEOM 650: Land Information Systems and Management

This course will use of GIS as a decision support tool in the collection and analysis of land information data and management. Topics include spatial modeling, data structure and management issues, legal issues of GIS and land information management, case studies, and application projects. Prerequisites: AET 750 Geospatial Techniques and Analysis

GEOM 660: Applied Geodetic Measurements

This course will consist of advanced topics in geometric geodesy and map projections and an introduction to physical geodesy. Advanced geometric geodetic computations and the programming of map projection transformations are covered. The geoid will be studied and the computation of ellipsoid, orthometric, and geoid heights and their application will be examined. Geodetic Height Modernization and its implications in surveying and engineering will be explored.

GEOM 670: Advanced Boundary Research

This course will focus on developing familiarity with evidence used in retracement of land boundaries and the use of advance legal research methods for determining statute and case law, regulations and secondary authorities used in advance boundary retracements.  Prerequisites: Permission of Instructor

GEOM 720: Advanced Imaging

The course presents the principals of imaging techniques, instruments and sensors including LIDAR, photogrammetry, UAV and satellite imagery. It covers data processing techniques for generating 3D point cloud, orthoimages and digital terrain models.  Prerequisites: Permission of Instructor

GEOM 845: Methodologies of Applied Remote Sensing

This course introduces Remote Sensing systems and sensors, principles and methods for data processing, ground truthing, image classification methods and mapping applications. It develops some practical, hands on skills for processing, analysis and display of remote sensing data for variety of applications. Prerequisites: NA

GEOM 885: Special Topics

This course allows the introduction of potential new courses on a trial basis or special content courses on a one time basis at the doctoral level. The topic of the course and title are determined prior to registration. Prerequisites: NA

STAT 824 Biostatistics Health Analytics

This course introduces statistical models and research designs to understand complex biomedical problems in public health, clinical trials, bioinformatics, and health care research fields. Topics include mixed effects model, regression analysis for time-to-event data and longitudinal data, and electronic health record data analysis. The emphasis is on leveraging advanced data analytics and visualization tools for methodological and practical applications. Prerequisites: MATH 624 or STAT 708 or permission of instructor.

CSE 708: Data Analytics and Engineering Applications

This is a project-based learning course, where the students will consider the challenges, issues, and approaches of Data Analytics and Engineering and its application in the field of business, e-commerce, bioinformatics, social media, intelligent transportation, and image and video libraries. The course also comprises of theory and practice of Data Science Approaches: (Relational and sequential databases, Preprocessing, Machine Learning, Expert systems, AI, computational Statistics, Exploration, Optimization, and Visualization). Prerequisites: NA

CIEN 754 - Modeling of Trans Systems

This course is concerned with the development and use of system models associated with transportation decision making. The modeling techniques that will be used are the following: multiple linear regressions, choice theory and network simulation. The application areas considered are the following: traffic flow theory, planning models, urban transit planning and operations, and the evaluation alternatives. Prerequisites: NA

CIEN 700 - Emerging Technologies in CIEN

Provides an overview of the applications of emerging technologies (such as decision support systems and Geographic Information Systems) in civil engineering. The students are required to complete a project which includes the design and implementation of one of the types of systems covered in the course. Prerequisites: NA
