Welcome from the Dean

Welcome to the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences (HCHHS) at North Carolina A&T State University. We offer bachelor’s degree programs in nursing, health services management (HSM), speech (health communication studies and language pathology & audiology), psychology, social work, sociology, and kinesiology (exercise science, recreation and sport management). We also offer master’s degree programs in social work and health psychology and a PhD program in social work. Our nursing and social work programs are nationally accredited. Our graduates achieve high pass rates on licensure and certification exams.

Faculty in the HCHHS are committed to academic excellence. We deliver outstanding and innovative educational programs that prepare our students for success. Degree programs in the HCHHS offer diverse career opportunities in traditional and emerging job markets. Student success is at the core of the HCHHS priorities. To help our students succeed we provide them with real-world experiences working with individuals, groups, and communities to gain knowledge and skills essential to solving problems in today’s world. Our students are engaged in research and leadership activities that prepare them as scholars and leaders for graduate programs and to assume roles in professional and community organizations.

Faculty in the HCHHS engage in research that address chronic and infectious diseases. We are committed to contributing to reducing health disparities and achieving health equity. We value community engagement and partnerships with community stakeholders and industry.
