Brief project description: The North Carolina Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation STEM Pathways and Research Alliance (NCLSAMP SPRA) partnership, under the leadership of Dr. Beryl McEwen, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, is made up of eight UNC universities with North Carolina A&T State University serving as the lead. Partner institutions include Fayetteville State University, North Carolina Central University, North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, University of North Carolina Charlotte, University North Carolina Pembroke and Winston-Salem State University.

Over the past 25 years, multiple sequential NCLSAMP projects have produced thousands of underrepresented minority (URM) professionals in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The goals of the NCLSAMP SPRA are to: diversify the STEM workforce by implementing evidence-based strategies for the recruitment and retention of URM students in STEM disciplines, facilitate the seamless transition of URM STEM graduates into STEM graduate degree programs and the STEM workforce, and broaden the STEM pathway through innovative, knowledge generating research.

Session Purpose/Registration: In this interactive session, participants will be introduced to Brookhaven National Laboratory initiatives and will be made aware of opportunities for collaboration with BNL.
