Aggie Commitment Trailblazer Scholars (ACTS) Program
The ACTS program is a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) pathways program to broaden participation in STEM. Students underrepresented in STEM and pursuing the Associate in Science or Associate of Engineering degrees with the intent to enroll at N.C. A&T to major STEM) are eligible to apply. N.C. community college students may apply and commit to the ACTS program in their first year of community college*. Early commitment to ACTS will provide a seamless transition from community college to N.C. A&T and several other benefits.
1. Program Requirements: ACTS participants must:- Be a member of groups underrepresented in STEM (African American, Hispanic American/Latino, Native American/Indigenous, or Persons with Disabilities) and Pell-eligible;
- Be selected at their community colleges before transferring to NC A&T;
- Complete the Associate in Science (AS) or the Associate of Engineering (AE) degree in no more than 2.5 years prior to transferring to N.C. A&T;
- Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA or above and a C or above in all courses at the community college and at NC A&T;
- Participate in at least four Aggie Commitment transfer preparation activities in a two-year period;f.Work closely with co-advisors at their respective community college and at NC A&T;
- Maintain full time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours per semester) while at NC A&T.
- Only students with a transfer date starting in a fall semester are eligible for the ACTS program
- Priority review of applications for admission to N.C. A&T and full in-state tuition and fees scholarships for two years upon enrollment at N.C. A&T;
- Early exposure to NC A&T’s campus culture;
- Monthly networking activities upon enrollment at N.C. A&T (peers, alumni, faculty researchers);
- Co-advisors at the community college and N.C. A&T;
- Career counseling upon enrollment at N.C. A&T and internships the summer after the first semester of enrollment at N.C. A&T.
- Eligible applicants should submit the ACTS online commitment form with your N.C. community college ACTS program advisor;
- Provide proof of N.C. community college enrollment;c.Complete a FERPA authorization form (included on the ACTS commitment form).
- June 30th, 2021: Students who wish to transfer to N.C. A&T in Fall 2021.
- September 6, 2021: Students who wish to participate in ACTS and will complete the AS or AE degree; then transfer to N.C. A&T in Fall 2022, Fall 2023, and Fall 2024.
