Cyber 911 - The Cybersecurity Forensic Hub for Women

The Cybersecurity Forensic Hub for Women, known as Cyber 911, is a hub created to address the alarming rise in tech abuse, cyber violence and stalkerware software. Stalkerware is illegal, undetectable software installed on digital devices without the knowledge of the owner to track their movement and activities. Cyber 911 is dedicated to assisting the most vulnerable members of our society being affected by tech-facilitated abuse.

Cyber 911 provides a safe, accessible space for individuals to bring their digital devices to be cleaned of harmful software in exchange for anonymized data. This free service will provide data to be used in research efforts focused on developing preventative strategies to end cyberviolence.

This initiative was created along with a Certificate in Forensic Science – Crime Scene Investigation program in Criminal Justice. Students that graduate with this certificate are eligible to join CREO’s earn-as-you-learn initiative and work in Cyber 911 assisting in digital forensic collection. To learn more, visit the Criminal Justice Program website.

N.C. A&T is a proud partner of the Coalition Against Stalkerware (CAS). You can find more information about the coalition and their activities to prevent tech-facilitated abuse at www.stopstalkerware.org.

If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, please contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline website at https://www.thehotline.org/ or call 1-(800) 799-SAFE (7233).
