Meet the National Scholarships and Fellowships Coordinator

The National Scholarships and Fellowships Coordinator (NSFC) helps N.C. A&T's current undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni learn of and apply for nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships ("extraordinary opportunities" or "EOs"), regardless of Honors College membership or current scholarship status. One of the first steps to preparing a strong application for these EOs is to schedule an appointment with the NSFC.

About the NSFC

Alsace-Lorraine (Alsace) Gallop is a native North Carolinian with interests in science, public health, writing, music, and education. She earned a diploma from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, a B.S. in biological sciences as a Banneker/Key Scholar at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD, and an MHA in health policy and administration with a focus in marketing from the School of Public Health (now the Gillings School of Global Public Health) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Ms. Gallop worked for nearly four years at UNC-Chapel Hill in a multi-faceted role that included being the program assistant for nationally competitive and prestigious awards. She then joined the Fellowship Advising Office at North Carolina State University in summer 2016 as its first Advisor and Recruiter for Distinguished Scholarships and Fellowships. Ms. Gallop recruited and advised hundreds of students and alumni at UNC-Chapel Hill and at NC State.  These include both universities’ first Mount Vernon Leadership Fellow; UNC-Chapel Hill’s first Udall Scholar of Native American descent, first Churchill Scholar in five years, and first Marshall Scholar in nine years; and NC State’s first Udall Scholar in four years, first Marshall Scholar in ten years who was also NC State’s first black Marshall Scholar, and first Truman Scholar in 15 years.
