Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program
The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is a nationally recognized and research-based program that equips families and individuals with the knowledge and skills to make healthy and affordable food choices.
EFNEP is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and operates in partnership with land-grant universities and local organizations.
Consistently, data shows that more than 90 percent of adults and 80 percent of youth report improved behaviors following EFNEP involvement. Individual and family improvements are seen in four core areas:
- Diet quality and physical activity
- Food resource management
- Food safety
- Food security
