Federal Grants
The Federal Government offers grants for students who are eligible. To apply a student must complete a FAFSA.
Federal Pell Grant is a federal grant that is based upon need as determined by the FAFSA and does not have to be repaid. Student must be enrolled as an undergraduate student currently working on their first bachelor's degree and must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). The grant amount varies depending on the student's EFC.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is a need- based federally funded program awarded to students with an exceptional need as determined by the FAFSA information. Generally, students with a zero (0) Expected Family Contribution (EFC) are awarded the SEOG grant. The grant amount can range from $200 to $4000, per award year.
Federal TEACH Grant is a federal grant that is awarded to eligible students who plan to complete or currently enrolled in program to complete coursework to teach in high need field. Eligible students must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA. Students who sign a TEACH grant agreement to serve, must complete 4 years of teaching (in a high-need field serving low income students) within 8 years of receiving the grant. Grant will convert to a Federal Unsubsidized loan (with interest from the date the grant was disbursed) if recipient does not complete services obligation. The maximum award is $4000 for the academic year. The APPLICATION process will begin June 01.
