MANDATORY - Attend an Information Session
You must attend a mandatory Information Session. Information sessions are informal. During the session, you are provided with the next steps to make informed decisions concerning your study abroad experience. The only thing you need to bring is your curiosity.

APPLY
Students can study abroad as a sophomore, junior, or first semester senior. Students cannot study abroad their last semester at N.C. A&T or as a second-semester freshman. Graduate students are also eligible to study abroad. Transfer students must earn an N.C. A&T GPA before studying abroad. Students must have a 2.75 cumulative GPA for semester programs, and a 2.5 cumulative GPA for summer programs. The application deadline for Fall/Summer is March 15 and the deadline for Spring is October 15. Complete your study abroad application here.

FAQ

Ideally, study abroad should be done during the second or third year of your degree.  However, there are some exceptions to the rule.  IF you are a senior there are faculty-led programs available and maybe some international research opportunities.  

No. Many programs offered abroad are in English, or are offered in countries that speak English. However, if you are looking for a study abroad experience to help you improve your language skills, there is a place for you no matter your current language ability.

The process is non-competitive however, you need a cumulative GPA of 2.5. If your GPA is too low to apply then you can continue to work on raising it and apply at a later date.

Yes. In most cases, studying abroad costs roughly the same or even less than a semester at N.C. A&T.

No. For many students, the first time they left North Carolina was when they have studied abroad.

No, it is not recommended. If planning to participate in commencement, transcripts from the host university will not be delivered to N.C. A&T in time to be assessed.
