Graduation Information
This page provides information on applying for graduation and preparing for the commencement ceremony.
Eligibility
Students expecting to graduate should carefully review whether they are eligible. To be eligible for graduation and participate in commencement, the following requirements must be met. An application for graduation will not be processed if all the following requirements have not been met:
- Be officially enrolled for the term in which you intend to graduate.
- Complete an application for graduation for the term in which you intend to graduate (you must apply for graduation by the posted deadline--see the academic calendar for deadlines.
- Have an earned cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Pay the required tuition and fees.
- Submit your Plan of Graduate Work (Study).
- Submit Transfer of Credit requests (if applicable).
- Submit the Report of Doctoral Dissertation Committee Form (Doctoral Candidates only).
- Resolve prior semester incomplete grades (this does not apply to IP grades for thesis and dissertation students).
- Students admitted provisionally must now be in unconditional admission status (consult your academic advisor).
- Successfully complete the thesis/dissertation review process (if applicable).
- The application MUST BE APPROVED by the academic advisor and your department chairperson. Approval or denial of your application will be sent directly to your Graduate Enrollment Coordinator.
- Approved Final Degree Clearance (must be submitted from the Academic Department Chairperson).
Application for Graduation
Students must apply for each degree or certificate through Aggie Access Online. The application for graduation must be submitted by the posted deadline (see the academic calendar for deadlines).
How to Apply
Visit Aggie Access Online and navigate to graduation application (Student>Student Records>Apply to Graduate), and then complete and submit the application. If you experience any issues or curriculum errors, email your name, banner ID and description of the issue to your enrollment coordinator in the Graduate College.
Additional Information
Your diploma will be mailed to the address provided on the application. If the new address is unknown at the time of application, please email the alternate address to your enrollment coordinator.
- The approved University fee structure requires a non-refundable payment of $60 Graduation Fee. Applications received after the deadline will be assessed an additional $20 late fee. Please refer to the university's academic calendar for the deadline to submit a graduation application.
- Students who are awarded a degree during the summer or fall term are eligible to participate in the December commencement ceremony.
- Thesis/Dissertation Guidelines
- If you will not complete degree requirements in the current semester for which you applied, please email the enrollment coordinator in the graduate college to request that your graduation application be withdrawn. You must reapply for graduation and enroll in the semester you expect to graduate.
